Teri Quannett Hughes

Terri Quannett “Que” Hughes gained her wings on February 14, 2023. Teri was born on January 6, 1988, in Rutherfordton NC to Gloria Maxwell and Terry Hughes. 

She was a member of New Bethel AME Zion Church until she moved away. 

Teri was a 2007 graduate of East Rutherford High School. After graduation, she attended Isothermal Community College in Spindale NC. In addition, she attended college in North Wilkesboro, NC and UNC Asheville. 

“Que” was loved and showed love, her smile was contagious, beautiful and bright. She touched the hearts and lives of many. Terri loved basketball, traveling and styling her favorite colors black and red. 

Teri loved her family but most of all her son Ty was her world. 

As an active member of the community, she gave her time and talents to marvelous math club and enjoyed working with after school kids. 

Teri was proceeded in death by her Grandparent Ruth Hughes. 

She leaves to cherish very special memories her mother; Gloria Maxwell of Asheville, NC; Father Terry L. Hughes of Upstate New York. One son; Ty’Veon Hughes of the home; Three sisters; Tanisha Logan Lattimore and Tawana Logan of New York; Montoya Maxwell of Asheville NC. Two brothers; Jaiden and Jordan Werts of Asheville NC. Maternal Grandmother; Shirley T. Byrd Maxwell, Godparents; Carl and Brenda Pratt, Derek Smith and Rudy Hampton all of Forest City NC, Special Friends; Brittany Boyce and Ashley Rich of Forest City NC and a host of uncles, aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

Services will be held at New Bethel AME Zion Church on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00PM.
