Bonny Lavoe Wardlaw was born March 18th 1937 in Asheville, NC to Mamie Holloway and Jasper Wardlaw. He departed this life on May 21st, 2024.
Bonny was an Alumni of A&T State University. Bonny worked as a guard for Craggy Prison after which he became a Policeman for the City of Asheville; after 33 years he retired and became a Professional Bail Bondsman for the State of NC. He served as a Chairman of the Lay Department at Piney Ridge Church. His passion was cooking. Bonny was Head Chef at Piney Ridge, he also helped out at Community Baptist Church in Asheville NC. He has his own separate kitchen (Poppa’a Kitchen) where he cooked all of the Family’s meals.
Bonny was proceeded in death by 15 siblings, him being the last. One son Curtis Wardlaw. He was a wonderful Father and even better Grandfather.
Left to cherish his memories-his wife of 58 years, Iris Wardlaw, Children Candy McEntyre (Ed McEntyre) Regina Wardlaw (Ben Hogue), Grandchildren- Edmund McEntyre, Dr. Jasmine McEntyre, Alexis Wardlaw, Rickie Wardlaw and Jamund McEntyre. 6 great grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews (Flower & Pallbearers).
Services will be held at Piney Ridge Church on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.
