Obituary

Felicia Renee Hodges, 61, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 2, 2026.

Felicia was born January 12, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas to Alvin and Donnella (Cooper) Christian. Throughout her early and teenage years, she lived in Texas, California, Illinois, Germany, and Oklahoma due to her father’s military career. She was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma at age 16. She graduated from Altus High School in 1983. At the age of 21, she joined the U.S. Army, proudly serving for 5 years as a Multichannel Equipment Operator. While in the service, she met and married Roland Hodges and had two children, Jonathan, and An’Quinette. They later divorced but remained friends.

Felicia earned her associates degree from Western Oklahoma State College and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cameron University.

Seeking a new beginning, Felicia moved from Altus to Rutherford County in April 1999. She worked in juvenile justice for 3 years before embarking on a 22-year career as an Adult Care and Foster Care social worker. She

retired from DSS in February 2025.

Felicia was a woman of strong faith and loved God deeply. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over 26 years. She sang in the choir, was a member of the praise team, dance team, and was an usher. She also served as church secretary, treasurer, a Sunday school teacher, and the Sunday school superintendent.

She loved meeting new people, skating, bowling, and attending Greenville

Swamp Rabbits hockey games. Additionally, in her retirement, she enjoyed frequenting the senior center and reading at ICC’s Pond. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her

loving and generous spirit will be remembered forever by all of us.

Felicia leaves to cherish her memory, her son Jonathan Christian-Hodges

of Cheraw, SC; daughter, An’Quinette Hodges of the home; grandson, Carter Hodges of the home; four uncles, a host of cousins, family, and close friends.

Felicia was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and

Donella, and older brother, Reginald Christian.

Services will be held at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12:00PM.
