Gwaltney Gwen Kearse

Gwaltney Gwen Kearse of Union Mills North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026. She finished her assignment here on earth and is at eternal rest.

Gwen was born to Emma L Kearse on September 26, 1948, in Queens, New York.

She was loved by a large family of family, friends, and acquaintances near and far. 

Gwen enjoyed her community. She was very devoted to the families in her communities in North Carolina and New York where she shared residences. 

Gwen was passionate about her life’s work. She worked as an educator at the State University of New York as her career. She assisted her mother with the Kearse Foundation, that was founded by her mother, Ms. Emma Kearse. Ms. Emma left the Kearse Foundation as legacy to Gwen, and she carried it on with a spirit of excellence. 

Gwen leaves to cherish fond memories, a special cousin, Mrs. Eva Thompson, a host of loving cousins, friends, and community, and a legacy within the Kearse Foundation to continue with a spirit of excellence.
