Samuel Jolley departed this life on Friday August 25th. Sam was born on February 16th, 1937, in Cleveland County to the late Charles (Chas) and Darcus Jolley.
He grew up in Cleveland County and graduated from Green Bethel High School. He was a lifetime member of Mundy’s Chapel UMC in Mooresboro NC
Sam is a polio survivor and proud of his contributions to the Health and Healing Experiences Exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh NC. Sam worked at Caroleen Mills for several years. Before working for Thompson Mortuary & Chapel for 60 years. He loved football, baseball, and auto racing among others. He loved sitting outside on a nice day reading his newspaper. He could tell you what the weather was going to be like no matter where you lived.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jahaeziel, Paul, CJ, and John Jolley. His sisters Tanner Walton, Pauline Johnson, Ruby, Madge, and Marie Jolley. Also, Stepsons Stanley and Randall Goode
He leaves to cherish his memories daughter Wanda Jolley of Huber Heights, OH. Son Marvin Jolley of Troy, OH. Stepson Samuel Goode of Dayton, OH. Grandchildren Leroy and Devin Bean and Brooklynn Jolley. Mother of his children, Martha Jolley
Services will be held at Mundy's Chapel UMC on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1:00PM.
